Prevention

Everyone experiences it but no one wants to talk about it. Luckily, there are ways to minimize your gas.

Tips to help keep the gas in the tank

Avoid alcohol or carbonated beverages

Champagne can make you particularly gassy, because it has both alcohol and carbonation.

Drink more water

That’s good advice even if you don’t have gas!

Spot the bad apples

Learn what foods tend to give you gas, and minimize them.

Eat slowly & chew thoroughly

This will reduce the amount of air you swallow.

If you wear dentures, make sure they fit

Consult with your dentist to make sure your dentures fit perfectly - excess air intake leads to gas.

Exercise!

Moving your body on a regular basis may help with digestion.

Fruits & veggies can be complex

Complex carbohydrates, that is! Broccoli, cauliflower, and beans are some of the biggest gas-causing culprits. Find out if these foods might be fueling your gas.

Don’t smoke or consume tobacco products

They give you gas, along with much worse.
